The Amstaf Trunolis Quest
(Ghoulbane)
This quest is best done out of order to save shoe leather. The order here is in quest order, but I will also explain the fastest way as well. As in all quests make sure you have the Quest NPC targeted when you are talking to them.
1. Head to West Karanas and find Ryshon Hunsti (loc -4200, -15000) who stands on the waters edge in the SE corner and hail him.
2. Answer "I seek enlightenment" , "what sword?" , "what power?" and "I seek the sword of nobility!" in response to his sentences. Receive a note for Kanthuk Ogrebane (Lore, No Drop, Unreadable).
3. Head over to ButcherBlock Mountains on the Continent of Faydwer. North of the docks (swim west out from the docks, then north, then east back to shore OR walk through the gap between the wall and the dock wall outside the dock entrance) is Kanthuk Ogrebane (loc 2200, 3000). Give him the note.
4. Answer "Who is Amstaf Trunolis?" , "What battle?" , "What courage?" , "Who is Ambreen?" , "What snowstorm?" , "What happened next?" , "How did he save you?" , "What shelter?" , "What slumber?" , " What strange image?". Receive a Pendant from Kanthuk (Magic, Lore, No Drop, Paladin only, Human, Halfelf, Dwarf, Erudite, +1 Cha). Kanthuk will depop.
5. Head to Dagnors Cauldron and just North of the Estate of Unrest zone is Llara (loc -1750, -950). Give her the Pendant.
6. Say "Kanthuk gave it to me" , "Who is Amstaf?" , "What was unusual?" , "What did you learn?" , "What did you see?" and "What is Ruathey?". Receive a 'Note to Ruathey' (No drop, lore).
NB. At this point if you are following the quest you should head to Lavastorm (Step 7), but to save porting back and forth from Antonica to Faydwer do the rest backwards (Step 11, 10, 9, 8 and then 7).
7. Find Ruathey who is in Lavastorm Mountains just west of the Nektulos Forest zone. Give her the "Note to Ruathey". Hail Ruathey. Answer "What sword?" and "What bag?". Receive the Nobleman's Bag (Lore, No Drop) (without the contents pictured).
8. Head to Najena and kill "a skeleton"s. One Spawns in a room by himself near the gate to Najena. While quite a few others spawn near the pool area. Repeatedly kill them until a "Hilt of the Nobleman" (Lore, No Drop) drops.
9. Head to High Hold Pass and head down to the goblin area underneath. Kill "a crazed goblin"s and "a goblin theif" until an "Amstaf Scroll" (lore, no drop) drops. Crazed Goblins spawn in each of the rooms and one spawns outside the Warrior Room on the slope.(NB. You may want to just hang out and buff/heal the players down there if you are too high level to group and ask politely to loot it if it drops). Goblin thieves spawn mainly in the Guard and Lookout Room.
10. Head to the Goblin Camp (loc 1330, -1500) in ButcherBlock Mountains and kill "a crazed goblin" and "a goblin" until a "Blade of Nobility" (Lore, No Drop) drops.
11. Head to Unrest in Faydwer and head to the second floor. Hunt "a crazed goblin"s until a "A Ghoul's Heart" (Lore, No Drop, All, All, Neck, -10 CHA) drops.
12. Combine the "A Ghoul's Heart", "Blade of Nobility", "Amstaf's Note" and "Nobleman's Hilt" in the "Nobleman's Bag". Receive Ghoulbane which procs Dismiss Undead (162 Direct Damage to Undead).
