This is the quest for the Bone Bladed Claymore which is a great "free" two handed slash once you hit level 40. To grab the sword you are required to have started the "A Key to the Past" quest (started by Librarian in the Stormhold Library).

In your youth you probably wondered what this was for!

1. Head into Stormhold and grab the glowing sword on top of the spiral staircase. (-150, -100).

Opalla is mean!

2. Examine the blade and you are tasked with killing Opalla (level 42^^^ /way -25, -16, 84 ) who is located inside Blackburrow. You can find Opalla by going directly south of the first bridge and taking no turns. After Opalla is dead examine the the inert bone bladed claymore.

3. Head to Stormhold, down the spiral staircase, through the atrium, left at the "T" junction, past the door on your left, past the steps on your right until you come to a dead end door. Go up the staircase past the Defiled Cavaliers and you will arrive at the the temple where Redak (level 44 /way 73,-17,-25 ) will spawn. After Redak has been dispatched examine the sword again.

4. Now you need a ebon cluster, shaped ebon coin or bent ebon disk which you can buy from the broker (around 1pp) or mine from tier 5 zones (Lavastorm, Everfrost, etc). Once you have the ebon head to Runnyeye in the North of Enchanted Lands. *BEWARE* this next step bans you from Qeynos until Step 6 is completed!

5. Once you go upstairs and cross the bridge you will enter a room. On your left there will be a small alcove. Inspect the anvil to reforge the blade. Doing this will ban you from Qeynos and from using Call of Qeynos until you complete the next step.

6. Now the sword commands you to kill 1000 sentient (non-animal) beings. The best place for this is in Northern Antonica at the Caltoris Ruins. The ones to the East along the cliffs die fast.

7. When you finally accomplish this feat head back to Stormhold with some help. The human ghost Gynok Moltar (level 47^^^) will spawn at glowing sword at the top of the stairs.

8. Once you defeat Moltar examine the sword once more to receive the Bone Bladed Claymore.

But it does not end there. If you have Berik, Sword of Thunder (Sword of Thunder is a very rare chest AND body drop in Stormhold that starts the simple quest) you can upgrade your new sword. Head back to Runnyeye and "Break Berik over the forge" to create the Electrified Bone Bladed Claymore.
