This Heritage quest yields a nice neck item, but as with
most Heritage quests the real reason for doing them is for the status,
both Guild and Personal. You must be level 25 or higher to start this
quest and you must have a form of Underwater Breathing to survive
the 4th and 7th steps.
The Power Sources
1. Head to the Oracle Tower in Antonica
(-1039, -665).
2. Behind the tower talk to Scholar Al'Quylar
and he will ask you to harvest power sources.
N.B. Scholar Al'Quylar
will most likely not be spawned as others will have probably killed
him (it is the last step in this quest). He
respawns every 90 minutes.
3. Head to the Thundering Steppes entrance
under the waterfall (near Blackburrow) in Antonica and zone in.
4. Head to the Western sea by heading South. Head down the beach and
swim out into the water. Swim until you no longer see yourself on
the map.

5. Deep below you will see a ship's deck with a hole in it. With
a form of Enduring Breath swim down (avoiding sharks and
squid) and under the deck to see the blue stone (1675, -90, 300).
Right click it and harvest it.
6. Now head to Nektulos Forest and North
to Timber Falls (500, 0, -1500). Swim
down into the pool on the NorthEast side harvest the power source.
7. Call of Qeynos back to Qeynos and then head back to Scholar
Al'Quylar at the Oracle Tower.
The Brown Research Tome on Binding
The Tomes
1. Now the Scholar Al'Quyla sends you out
to recover two Tomes or Books.
2. Head to the Ruins of Varsoon in the South East corner of Thundering
Steppes.
3. The Brown Research Tome on Binding is
at ( /way 25, 0, 75 ) - Book of Life room
4. The Black Research Tome on Immortality
is at ( /way 237, 0, 50 ) - Book of Death room
5. Getting both books can be hard since the mobs in the rooms can
be dangerous, but after you are done return to Scholar
Al'Quyla.
The Palladium Torque
1. Scholar Al'Quyla now requires a Paladium
Torque. There are three ways you can obtain one:
a) Mob drop in Stormhold.
b) Player Crafted from Paladium.
c) Buy if from the Broker for lots of
gold.
2. Scholar Al'Quyla will take the Paladium
Torque from you (he uses to let you keep it)
The Tome of Life
The Final Steps
1. He now asks you to head back to the Ruins
of Varsoon to kill the Tome of Life
and the Tome of Death (which are in the rooms
you got the books from).
The attack Varsoon you have to survive two waves of alien beasts!
2. Once they have been destroyed return to Scholar
Al'Quylar and he will send you to kill Varsoon
the Undying in the Chamber of Immortality
(You need to complete this access quest)
3. Upon returning to Scholar Al'Quylar (35^^^
with pet) who will then attack you. Kill him for your reward.
