SPELL FAQs

Q: Is Guidance, the 65th Paladin spell, worth getting?
A:
While is definitely not the most powerful spell in a Paladins arsenal but it IS useful.

Heroism + Bulwark of Faith + Symbol of Marzin (840 + 1 Peridot) = 1150 HP + 56 AC
Guidance (750 + 1 Peridot) = 1100 HP + 54 AC

"Wow I lose 50HP and 2 AC for 90 less mana!" you say. Well you would be right, but the power of Guidance is in the fact that it is one spell and not three. So firstly you only need one spell gem slot and secondly if you have a Druid as your buffer/healer you can self buff Guidance and keep your Aura of the Crusader (Protection of Nine overwrites Heroism, Bulwark of Faith, Symbol of Marzin AND AotC but NOT Guidance + AotC since Guidance stipulates that only spells that give more than 1100HP overwrite it). This spell is also great for buffing group members that have just been resurrected, the Cleric is low on mana and you do not have time to let him/her meditate (LDoN Adventure for example).

Q:Why should I load more than one stun spell?
A:There are a number of reasons:

1) Chain Stun. By casting Stun on a MOB and then clicking another stun (or ALT and the gem number) right as the other one finishes casting it is possible to chain together a series of stuns. This is great for stopping casters with nasty spells (Charm, Complete Heal, Gate, etc.) and for keeping a MOB in one place.

2) Pause MOBs. If your Healerlagged a little or did not see how low your life was and has only just started casting a heal spell stunning the MOB over and over often stops damage long enough for the heal to take effect (this is especially true since at low life when you are taking more damage than usual). Also later on it sometimes takes a while for the SHA/ENC to land a slow on the MOB by stunning the MOB repeatedly at the beginning of combat you will save your Healers mana by not taking as much un-slowed damage.

3) Aggro. It is almost impossible to pull a MOB off of a Paladin that is chain stunning. Mainly because if the MOB does turn to attack another group member the MOB will be stunned in its current position so that you can try to regain aggro with taunt, attacks and another stun.

4) Resists. If a MOB is casting a spell and your first stun was resisted you can cast another immediately after it. This is especially true when the caster is casting Complete Heal or Gate since the cast time on those spells is especially long.

SKILL FAQs

Q: What does the damage in a Bash? The shields weight or its AC?
A: The shields AC and your Strength.

Q:How much does LoH heal?
A: Depends on your level and whether you have trained in the LoH PoP AA upgrade.

Level 1 -40 HP = ((32 x Level)+1)
Level 41-60 HP = (1281 + (76 x (level - 40)))

Q: How long does it take for LoH to recycle?
A: One Norrath Day (93 minutes)

Q:Disarm is a waste of time right?
A:Wrong. Disarm causes aggro. Many high-end Paladins use Taunt, Stuns, Disarm and Bash to keep themselves on the top of the aggro list. I have read and heard of a number of Paladins also using Beg as well to keep aggro high. Since all these skills are lightning fast they can all be "mashed" (hit at the same time) while also stunning and attacking.

Q: I heard that you can recharge Soulfire. Is this true?
A:
No. The only way to recharge Soulfire is to destroy it and do the quest again.

STAT FAQs

Q: What is the most important stat for Paladins?
A: It depends on the circumstances, but for most Paladins the order of importance is AC, STA, WIS, AGI, STR, DEX, INT. The reasons are many but its easier to up your STR and WIS. AC and HP arethe most important stats for melee types.

Q: How does AGI effect AC?
A:
The chart can be found here. Pretty much if you are above AGI 75 you will see a small increase in AC.

Q: How does STA effect HP?
A: HP = Level * (23 + STA/13) + (HP Buffs from Equipment/AA).

Q: How does Haste work?
A: Total Haste = Highest Haste Item + Highest Haste Song + Highest Haste Spell. Haste is also limited by Level.

Hasted Weapon Delay = Weapon Delay / 1 + (% Haste / 100)

Ex. Soulfire (23 Damage / 45 Delay). Say you have Valor of Marr (25%). The 45 Delay becomes 36 Delay (45 / 1.25)
Ex. Fiery Avenger (33 / 44 Delay). Cloak of Flames (36%). Aanya's Quickening (64%) = 22 Delay!

Q: Can I MultiQuest this part of a quest?
A: If you and the Multiquester have the required faction and you need to hand in two pieces into an NPC it CAN be Multiquested. Have the other person hand in the piece and then hand in your piece to receive back the quest item. Sony says they might change this practice in the future so player beware!
