Level: 55+

This quest can only be done after the Qeynos Badge of Honor Quest.

1. Find Vegalys Keldrane in South Qeynos again and Hail him. Say 'I wish to further advance', 'what individual that unleashed this plague?' and 'what is still missing?'

2. Head to Jagged Pine which is through the waterfall in of Surefall Glade. Click on the teleportation gem on the pole at the top of the tunnels to teleport into Jaggedpine Forest. Beware that Jaggedpine has ALOT of bears and wolves that will happily join in on any fight you are losing.

3. Hail Sergeant Caelin. Say 'What bounty?' , 'Who is docile?' , 'What men?' and 'What shift report?'. If he responds that he does not trust you (as he will most likely do) head North East to the Gnoll Cave in the North Wall (Loc2200, 650, 90). Killing Gnolls will raise faction with the Residents of Jaggedpine, the Treefolk and the Protectors of Pine (which is the one you need). If you loot any Gnoll Fangs keep them and turn them into Sergeant Caelin for more faction. (Warning: Running to the guards does not help as they do not engage Gnolls. Click the teleportation stone as fast as you can to port back to Surefall Glade).

4. When you ask 'What shift report?' and he responds that you are helpful in their defense efforts and that he wishes to see your Badge of Honor.

5. Give him the Badge of Honor and he will give you a Marked Badge of Honor and a Official Warning.

6. To your right Guard Finewine is standing by the other house back entrance. Hail him and say 'What Bossamir'. Give him the warning note.

7. He wants Dryad/Potameid Pate:

Potameids will attack as soon as you enter the river

-Foraged plant shoots (Ranger/Druid skill)
-Brandy (Nerdala Darkcloud at 1080, 2088)
-Spices (Nerdala Darkcloud at 1080, 2088)

* Dryads are everywhere in the zone and have faction so killing makes moving around the zone hard. Potameid are found in the river to the East. NOTE Potameids are almost IMMUNE to magic which means its very hard to root those buggers.

Combine in a spit (Tallien Brightflash at loc 1090, 2020 OR Dunarl at loc -1050, 3460). Make sure you place them below other food in your inventory otherwise you might eat them. Also if you do not have a 151 in Bakery you can risk it, but plant shoots are hard to come by. If there is a Master Baker (careful!) you can get them to make it for you if you have the ingredients ready as it is tradable (thanks Alyson). However if you want to work your Bakery up to 151 all the ingredients are close by too.

8. He will complain he wants something better and will give you the warning letter back and a bottle of Fine Wine Family Brandy.

9. Kill panthers to get more panther liver (common drop). Make the following Pate:'

-Foraged plant shoots (Ranger/Druid skill)
-FineWine Family brandy from guard (see above)
-Spices

10. Hand him the Pate and he will give you the a Stack of Shift Reports.

11. Go back to Sergeant Caelin and give him the Stack of Shift Reports. Receive Compied Shift Report.

12. Head back to South Qeynos. Make sure you have room for a bag for the next part. Go the Arena area and you will find Captain Tillin overlooking the PvP area. Hand him the Shift Report to receive 'Orders for Caelin'.

13. Head back to Jaggedpines Forest, hand the Orders to 'Sergeant Caelin' and you will receive a Writ of Execution to kill Barducks Darkpaw and a Black Satchel.

14 Head to the Gnoll Caves North East of the town once again. Head in deep (taking the left path as the right one has invisible drops) and find Barducks Darkpaw. Kill off all the support before pulling Barducks Darkpaw (Barducks sometimes spawns in the North Chamber as well). He has a very high Magic Resistance so make sure you Tash Clash or Malaise him. He has about 15K Hit Points and can double hit in the 200s.

NOTE: Exactly five minutes after you kill Barducks wave apon wave of Gnolls will descend on the town and attack everything so WARN people in the zone that this will happen. Kill as many of these Gnolls as you can and hand in no rent items (Gnoll Shields, Gnoll Armour, Stolen Fruit) to Sergeant Caelin, before he despawns, to receive random fun loot (Single cast Levi, Damage Shields, SoW, etc). Fighting in the The Gnoll war is NOT necessary, but can be fun!

14. Put the Head of Barducks in the Satchel with the Orders to kills him and hit combine to make a Closed Black Satchel.

15. Head back to Sergeant Caelin (you may have to wait for him to respawn after the War) and hand in Closed Black Satchel and the Marked Qeynos Badge of Honor and you receive the Qeynos Badge of Nobility.

The Quest seems like at some point it might be continued.
